Getting Started with Seer Agents¶
Welcome to the Seer Marketing Agents platform! This guide is designed for SEO analysts, strategists, and marketing practitioners who want to use AI-powered agents to streamline their daily workflows and produce high-quality deliverables.
Our agents are built to handle the heavy lifting of data gathering and initial analysis, allowing you to focus on high-level strategy and client impact.
1. Setup & Installation¶
Before you can run your first command, ensure you have the platform installed and your data sources connected.
- Installation: Follow the Quickstart Guide to set up OpenCode (our primary platform) in under 5 minutes.
- API Keys: You will need API keys for our core data sources to get the most out of the agents:
- BigQuery: For Seer Signals and organic ranking data.
- DataForSEO: For real-time SERP and keyword research.
- Wrike: For task management and time tracking.
2. Discovering Commands¶

/utils:commands: Displays a full list of all available workflows you can run./utils:help: Provides detailed instructions on how to use the system and what prerequisites are needed for specific tasks.
3. Running Your First Workflow¶
All Seer workflows are invoked using simple slash commands. Let's look at a concrete example using the Content Audit workflow.
Scenario: Optimizing an Existing Page¶
Imagine a client's core service page has seen a decline in traffic, and you want to refresh it.
- Start the Command: Type
/content-auditin your terminal. - Provide Context: The agent will ask you for the target URL and any specific goals.
- Example Input: "I want to audit
https://www.example.com/services/seobecause traffic has dropped 20% year-over-year."
- Example Input: "I want to audit
- Collaborate: The agent will guide you through a structured 5-step process (see below). It might ask 5-10 clarifying questions to ensure the research is targeted.
- Review the Output: Within 30-60 minutes, you'll receive a comprehensive Google Doc (or markdown file) containing research, competitive analysis, and color-coded recommendations.
4. What to Expect: The 5-Step Workflow¶
Every major deliverable follows a consistent, high-quality process:
- Intake: The AI asks clarifying questions about the client, goals, and target audience.
- Data Plan: The AI determines exactly what data it needs to gather (e.g., from BigQuery or DataForSEO).
- Data Interpretation: The AI analyzes the raw data to find meaningful insights and patterns.
- Draft Deliverable: The AI creates the initial version of your document based on Seer's writing standards.
- Final Polish: The AI applies a final QA check to ensure the deliverable is client-ready and meets our quality benchmarks.
5. Tips for Best Results¶
- Be Specific: The more context you provide during the Intake phase, the better the output. Mention specific competitors or "gotchas" the AI should know about.
- Stay Involved: Don't just "set it and forget it." Review the AI's data plan and interpretation steps to make sure it's on the right track.
- Check the MCPs: If a command feels slow or fails, check your connection to BigQuery or DataForSEO (see Troubleshooting).
